California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) – Women’s Spirituality Program: “Our PhD degree in Philosophy and Religion with a Concentration in Women’s Spirituality is a rigorous trans-disciplinary program that prepares students to become thought-leaders and change-makers. We reclaim suppressed knowledge emerging from women and subaltern groups while amplifying the voices of women spiritual leaders, activists, and healers. Our program explores varied spiritual, ecological, and political perspectives rooted in care for the Earth, each other, and the Sacred.”

The Association for the Study of Women and Mythology (ASWM) is an active group that supports scholarly and creative endeavors in the sacred feminine, women and mythology through conferences, scholar salons, and publications.

Dr. Lucia Chiavola Birnbaum: Sicilian American and feminist cultural historian whose internationally-acclaimed books – including Black Madonna and Dark Mother: African origins and godmothers – emphasize the African origins of all humans, African legacy on migration paths to all continents, from 70,000 BCE to the present, conveying values of caring and sharing, justice with compassion, equality, and transformation.
